exploring opportunities for belieforama in the field of business and social profit sector

I know that a lot of people will hesitate by reading the headding of this topic. Do we have to sell our soul to the devil? Isn't there a risk to loose our principles as an organisation? In my experience with corporates and social profit organisations (such as hospitals f.i.) I know that it isn't the case if you consider the opportunities to work together in a clever way. After all corporates form a big pie of our societal environment. I did a bit of research to find out where ceji and belieforama may find some opportunities to connect with this area. Not by selling 'belieforama' as a product to corporates, but by asking what their needs are at the moment and by doing so to have a view where eventually we can 'hook our programm' on.

I have made a draft (very rudimentary) that I like to sent to everybody who's interested to explore the question a bit further. At the moment it is not in a version that I would post it on this forum directly. I invite those members of the C.O.P who already works in the corporate sector (Ine?Guy? Sheridan?....) but also others to join in.

Just to give it a start:

1. At first (and for many companies even now) it was sufficiënt only to have a GOOD PRODUCT and to SELL IT;        (with consequences such as: automatisation, marketing, chain supply, just-in-time delivery etc)

2. A lot of corporates found out that in order to do so, you needed to invest in a GOOD PROCES monitoring (with consequences such as good working conditions for the employees, how to motivate people, better selection criteria, peoples management, HRM etc)

3. The hype for the moment in many corporates : having also GOOD GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT. (with consequences such as management strategies on the long term, diversification of products and people, thinking about profiles that will be needed within a few years in a quickly changing market and society environment, not only looking at diplomas but seeking for people with more general skills and adaptation abilities, having a good mix of 'generalists' and 'specialists' etc)

4. some companies are looking to be a "GOOD NEIGHBOUR" (with environmental consequences, ecology, the space where to built a factory, inviting the neighborhood and civil society at open door activities to give explanation etc)

5. a few companies are aware that they can play an active role as a ' GOOD SOCIETAL ACTOR', very often image-building is the driving element (f.i. giving awards, bringing art into the building, organising social events etc), but some introduces social-ethical elements.

Of course a lot of those evolutions are made possible due to  pressure from society, union work, increasing competition,  laws and legislation etc...

but I'm sure that we can find 'hooks' in each of the 5 topics. Hope to see some reactions.

thanks for a great user seminar in brussels, octobre 2012

My soul may already be sold...devil

I think points 2 and 3 above are great for consulting and tarining for their internal processes, and the last one is a great opportunity to support the corporate social responsibility mission.

I just posted  a separate forum topic on Belieforama USPs that could also be helpful in this reflection.
